Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Initiatives

Massachusetts has a rich tradition of invention and ingenuity in the areas of scientific discovery and technological innovation. However, our world leadership position is being challenged because of rapidly developing global competition. To assert and maintain leadership in knowledge based and innovation driven industries, Massachusetts must develop a highly educated and skilled workforce, internationally benchmarked, that is deeply grounded in the subject knowledge and application of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) per “A Foundation for the Future: Massachusetts’ Plan for Excellence in STEM Education, Version 1.0.”
