The Regional Employment Board of Hampden County, Inc., in collaboration with the Western Massachusetts Chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association (WMNTMA) and other industry leaders, has received funding from various sources, including the John Adams Innovation Institute, in support of an initiative called Regional NetWorks (RENEW) and the various training programs that have spawned from it, such as a Precision Machining Training Program funded through the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund grant from the Commonwealth Corporation.
RENEW is a strategic venture to build the capacity and profile of the high technology precision machining industry in the Pioneer Valley region. RENEW will respond to the challenges facing the regional companies by coalescing multiple entities into a network that will result in a shared vision, a collective expertise, and a strategically developed workforce development plan that truly reflects the realities of the high technology precision machining companies global marketplace.
