Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative is now the Connected Learning in Afterschool and Summer Partnership
The Connected Learning in Afterschool and Summer Partnership (CLASP) is a region-wide effort to expand quality summer-learning opportunities for children throughout western Massachusetts. CLASP was known as the Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative (HSLI) since 2006 and for over the past 10 years worked with community based organizations and schools to strengthen the unique and significant role out-of-school-time programs play in supporting children’s social and academic development. CLASP continues this work with a renewed vision and mission:
All students have access to high quality Out-of-School-Time learning opportunities that prepare them to succeed in school and in life.
The Connected Learning in Afterschool and Summer Partnership leads an integrated Out-of-School-Time system that works to improve the quality of and access to supportive learning opportunities that engage, empower, and enable youth and increase student academic, social and emotional success.
CLASP’s mission is to create equity in opportunity for all youth through expanded learning experiences, and to insure they are ready by age 21 to be productive, healthy and connected citizens in their communities.
